A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 25 in McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung, for Mercy Sister Mary Donald Cody who died Sept. 20. She was 84.

Sister Donald, the former Rose Mary Cody, was born in Trenton in 1933. She was educated by the Sisters of Mercy and entered the community Sept. 24, 1953. She continued her studies, pursuing a degree in elementary education in Georgian Court College (now University), Lakewood, and taught in schools in the Trenton, Camden and Metuchen dioceses. In the Diocese of Trenton, she served in St. Mary School, Bordentown, and St. Paul School, Princeton. Sister Donald continued to serve in St. Paul School in support staff positions until she moved to McAuley Hall Health Care Center in 2013.

Sister Donald is survived by nieces and nephews and Sisters of Mercy in the Mid Atlantic Community.

Burial was in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Mercy, Mid Atlantic Community, 1645 Highway 22, West, Watchung, NJ 07069.
