Mercer County CYO to hold 5K race and golf events

The Mercer County Catholic Youth Organization will host two events in support of the capital campaign for the Msgr. Toomey Annex, breaking ground in the fall. The 19th annual Memorial Day Race May 23 at Veteran’s Park, Kuser Rd., Hamilton Township, begins with registration from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. followed by a walk/one mile fun run at 6:15 p.m. and the 5K race at 6:45 p.m. The course is USA Track and Field certified. Prizes will be awarded to the following age brackets; 13 and under, 14–18, 19–29, 30-39, 40–49, 50–59, 60 and over. A $100 cash prize will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers. Prizes will be awarded to all male and female finishers in each age bracket.

Refreshments will be available after the race along with music and computerized race results.

Pre-registration is $20 and shirts are included; registration the day of event is $25 and shirts will be included while supplies last.

The 19th Golf Classic will be held Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Mountain View Golf Course, Bear Tavern Rd., West Trenton.

The entry fee is $135 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, tee gift package, lunch, dinner, beverages and prizes.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.; lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the patio area of the clubhouse; beverages 5:30 p.m.; dinner 6:30 p.m. with awards and prizes.
