A memorial Mass will be celebrated Oct. 11 at 9 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Little Egg Harbor, for Msgr. Ronald Amandolare who died Sept. 29. Msgr. Amandolare served the past 13 years of his retirement in St. Theresa Church where he assisted with Masses and serving the needs of the parish community. He was 80.

Msgr. Amandolare was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y. He attended St. Ann Elementary School and Fordham Prep High School, both in the Bronx. He prepared for the priesthood in the Seminary at Cathedral College in New York City and Immaculate Conception Seminary, Darlington. He was ordained a priest May 27, 1961 in St. John Cathedral, Paterson.

Msgr. Amandolare served the Paterson Diocese in many capacities including in Immaculate Conception parish, Franklin; Blessed Sacrament Parish, Paterson; as pastor of St. Paul Parish, Clifton, and St. Patrick Parish, Chatham. He served in Morris Catholic High School, Denville; was an assistant in the Diocesan Schools Office, superintendent of the Diocesan Schools Office; diocesan director of religious education, and diocesan director for the implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

A funeral Mass for Msgr. Amandolare was celebrated Oct. 3 in St. Patrick Church, Chatham, and burial was in St. Vincent Cemetery, Madison.

St. Theresa Church, Little Egg Harbor, is located at 450 Radio Rd.
