Mass of Remembrance for typhoon assistance

A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated for the intentions of the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, in the Philippines, Jan. 31 in St. Mary, Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Rd., Middletown.
A choral prelude will begin at 7 p.m. and the Mass will follow at 7:30.
The Mass will be hosted by the parish music ministry Celebrant will be Father Joe Noche, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Hainesport, and diocesan coordinator of the Department of Pastoral Care, Respect Life Ministry.
Donations will be collected to support the medical mission of Dr. Loreta M. Uy, a parishioner who hails from the affected region. She and her husband, along with some members of Bukas Loob sa Dios-Newark will travel to Dr. Uy’s hometown, Tacloban, in February to assist with medical relief efforts there. Tacloban was severely affected by the storm.
