Marianite of Holy Cross Sister Mary Cecilia Maloney

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 25 in the chapel at McAuley Health Care Center, Watchung, for Marianite of Holy Cross Sister Mary Cecilia Maloney who died Jan. 21.
Born Mary Ellen Maloney in Ballymore, Moate, County Westmeath, Ireland, Sister Mary Cecilia entered the Mother House of the Marianites of Holy Cross at Precigne, France, July 7, 1927. She made final profession of vows in French Hospital, New York City, April 25, 1932.
She received a nursing degree, bachelor of science degree in nursing education and also a license in nursing home administration from the State of New Jersey. Sister Cecilia ministered at French Hospital, New York City, St. Francis Hospital, Trenton, Our Lady of Princeton, Princeton, New Jersey, St. Mary of the Lakes, Medford, and Mater Dei Nursing Home, Newfield. Sister Mary Cecilia also taught at St. Louis Academy, New York.
On Jan. 26, 2004, Sister Cecilia became a resident at McAuley Health Care Center, Watchung.
Sister Cecilia is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States, Ireland and England.
Burial was in Our Lady of Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Fund of the Marianites of Holy Cross, 1011 Gallier Street, New Orleans, LA 70117.
