Lourdes schedules July blood drives

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Although 60 percent of the United States’ population is eligible to donate blood, only five percent does so, according to the American Red Cross. That five percent must meet 100 percent of the need for blood in the country.

Donations are especially needed during the summer months. To help with blood donation supplies, Lourdes Health System is sponsoring the following blood drives:

July 11, 2-7 p.m., LourdesCare at  Cherry Hill, 1  Brace Rd., Cherry Hill;

July 19, 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center (Auditorium), 1600 Haddon Ave., Camden;

July 19, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County (Cafeteria), 218 Sunset Rd., Willingboro.

Donors from the three locations are eligible to win a pair of Philadelphia Phillies tickets for an upcoming game in August. One donor will be selected from each location to receive a pair of free tickets.

To make an appointment to donate at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center or LourdesCare at Cherry Hill, call Tina Ermert Bortner at 609-326-6041. To make an appointment to donate at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, call Peggy Cossette-Bauer at 609-835-5813. If unable to schedule an appointment, walk-ins are welcomed.
