Lourdes holds backpack drive for local children in need

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Lourdes Medical Associates/Osborn Family Health Center is hosting its 10th annual Backpack Drive through Aug. 21. Lourdes is asking members of the community and its employees to donate new backpacks stuffed with school supplies, including pencils, pens, markers, crayons, folders, glue sticks, scissors, notebooks and tissues.

All the donated backpacks stuffed with school supplies will be distributed to local children in need prior to the start of the school year.

Donations can be made two ways. Stuffed backpacks can be dropped-off at Lourdes Medical Associates Osborn Family Health Center, 1601 Haddon Ave., Camden.  Drop-off times are Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

School supplies can also be purchased online and shipped to Lourdes through the Amazon Smile program. The following link, https://amzn.com/w/I8XOQV3CUIY, directs donors to a “wish list” with all the items needed for children going back to school. Donors must log into their Amazon account to make a purchase, however, donors can remain anonymous if they choose.

The last day for donations is Aug. 21. For any questions or more information, contact Deborah Bokas at 856-757-3542.
