Local priest, evangelist re-elected National Charismatic ministers

Trenton diocesan priest Father Jeffrey J. Kegley and Aberdeen-based evangelist and youth minister Caroline Gambale Dirkes were re-elected to three-year terms on the National Service Committee of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal at its meeting in Miami, Fla., Jan. 12.
Father Kegley, a native of Keansburg, was ordained in 1996 and currently serves as pastor of St. Mary Parish, Middletown. He is spiritual director of the Mother of God Covenant community, a Catholic charismatic community which draws from multiple parishes in the diocese, and chaplain for the Catholic Men for Jesus Christ organization.
Caroline Gambale Dirkes earned bachelor degrees in Theology and Psychology in 1993 from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, and has spoken at numerous rallies, retreats and conferences worldwide, including the National Charismatic Leadership Conference, the Steubenville Youth Conference and the Life Teen Training Conference. She and her husband Dan Dirkes are founders of 2TIM4 Ministries, a Catholic evangelical ministry. They and their three children Catherine Ann, Daniel Joseph and Therese Grace are members of St. Rafael – Holy Angels Parish, Hamilton.
The National Service Committee of the Charismatic Renewal, based in Locust Grove, Va., is a body of leaders in the Catholic charismatic movement which work together in renewing the graces of the Holy Spirit in the life and mission of the Church. The NSC selects its members for their pastoral and visionary gifts in empowering others as the disciples did at Pentecost; in addition to Father Kegley and Gambale Dirkes, members include Bishop Sam Jacobs of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, La., and Archbishop Robert Carlson of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Mo.
