Labor Day run poised to kick off another school year in Cinnaminson

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The sixth annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Run Back to School will be held Sept. 7 beginning in the school parking lot of St. Charles Borromeo School, Cinnaminson.

The rain or shine event welcomes anyone interested in participating, regardless of age or experience or ability, and offers a 5K run and walk, a tots dash and a one-mile fun run and walk.

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., with the 5K event beginning at 9 a.m. and the Tots Dash – intended for those up to and including the age of 5, including a short, informal race that takes place entirely within the school parking lot – beginning at 9:45 a.m. and the one-mile event starting at 10 a.m.

Registration can be completed online up until Sept. 4, and those pre-registering will be guaranteed a t-shirt from the event. Same-day registration is also available, with t-shirts available while supplies last. Pre-registration is $20 for the 5K, $15 for the one-mile event and $10 for the Tots Dash. Same-day registration will cost an additional $5.

The event will feature music, food and entertainment, as well as recognition for first-time 5K’ers and an award ceremony for top finishers.

Since 2010, the school PTA board has sponsored the Rock ‘n’ Roll Run, which primarily serves as a fundraiser for the school. Proceeds grow each year, organizers have said, with last year’s event netting roughly $7,000.
