Kisses for Kyle

Students in Incarnation-St. James School, Ewing, recently held a “Penny War” to raise money for the Kisses for Kyle Foundation. The foundation is dedicated in memory of Kyle Snyder and provides help for families of children suffering from cancer. The foundation was started by Kyle’s mother, Sharon Snyder, after Kyle had suffered with and died after an eight-month battle with leukemia. The two week long “Penny War” event, which was sponsored by the school’s student council, encouraged students to donate the change they had earned by doing chores at home. The school raised $450 through the “Penny War,” and that amount was matched by the Christine’s Hope for Kids, an organization dedicated to Christine Gianacaci from Hopewell Township, who died during the 2010 earthquake in Haiti while working with less fortunate children. In total, a donation of $900 was given to the Kisses for Kyle Foundation.  In this picture, members of the Incarnation-St. James student council share a moment with organization founders Jean Gianacaci and Sharon Snyder.
