Kathleen Black Diamond, a Catholic educator for 35 years

A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated June 19 in Our Lady of Grace Church, Penndel, Pa., for Kathleen Black Diamond, eighth grade teacher in Pope John Paul II Regional School, Willingboro. Mrs. Black Diamond died June 13 in St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, Pa., at age 58. She died the same day that her students graduated from the Burlington County school.

Born in Philadelphia and a longtime resident of Langhorne for many years, Mrs. Black Diamond served in Catholic education for 35 years. Prior to arriving in the Trenton Diocese, she taught in St. Hubert School, Philadelphia, and St. Mary School, Newark.

In the Trenton Diocese, she taught in Cathedral Grammar School, Trenton, and for the past 17 years she served in Willingboro, first in Corpus Christi School and since 2005, Pope John Paul II Regional School.

Mrs. Black Diamond was predeceased by her parents, Ed and Genevieve Black; one brother, Bernard Black, and her brother-in-law, Carlos Comella. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Frank Diamond; and their daughter, Emily Black Diamond. She also is survived by her siblings, Edward Black (Nancy), Theresa Comella, Christopher Black (Ann), Regina Urmson (Frank), Ruth Black (Kelly Davenpeck); her sister-in-law, Mary Black; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Burial was to follow in Our Lady of Grace Parish cemetery.
