On Sept. 11, St. David the King Parish, Princeton Junction, recalled all victims of the terror attacks with Mass at 8:30 a.m. followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The Memorial Wall in the lobby of the parish Faith Formation Center was also a focus of reflection. Dedicated a year ago to the day, this wall was designed as place of prayer for three parishioners and nine relatives and friends who perished in the attacks. Their names are engraved on granite recovered from the World Trade Center. Small crosses, made from World Trade Center steel are affixed to the panels. In the center, an “eternal flame” candle glows beneath a tile in the shape of a cross. To the right is a passage from the Gospel of Luke (10:18-29): Jesus said, “I have observed Satan fall like lightening from the sky. Behold, I have given you the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
