In a special time of prayer centered on the Eucharist, the entire student body, faculty and staff in Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville, gathered on May 24 to pray the Rosary and honor Mary, the institution’s namesake. Beginning at 7:55 a.m. in the auditorium, the prayerful occasion was the first activity of the day, coming before classes and meetings. It was the first of what Father Joseph Jakub, chaplain, said will be an annual tradition. “Seeing the entire school in front of the Blessed Sacrament for 25 minutes was a powerful thing for them, and really a powerful sign for me,” he said, reflecting on the experience, which included a procession with the Monstrance and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. “It was amazing how quiet, prayerful and attentive the whole environment was,” he continued.
