Holy Land pilgrimage promises to be sacred experience for priests

For 10 days, 21 priests of the Diocese will travel together on pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

From Jan. 24 to Feb. 2, they will journey in the footsteps of Jesus, visiting the land where Jesus was born, raised, went about his ministry, was crucified and rose from the dead. Among the highlights of the priests’ tour include Biblical sites such as Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee and the Mount of Olives. They will celebrate Mass at the Mount of Beatitudes; the Basilica of the Annunciation, where Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass in 2000; the Church of the Nativity, the birth place of Christ; pray the Stations of the Cross as they follow the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross), and celebrate Mass in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the site where Jesus was crucified and buried.
