Knights of Columbus from the Diocese of Trenton braved the driving rainstorm Oct. 2 to express appreciation for their shepherd at the biennial Bishop’s Appreciation Dinner. Held in Holy Eucharist Parish, Tabernacle, the event was hosted by the fraternal organization’s Trenton Federation and attended by over 200 Knights, clergy and guests. “I first got to know the Knights of Columbus as president of The Catholic University of America. They were instrumental in building the university,” Bishop O’Connell told the group. “Knights are instrumental at a parish, and the Eucharist is central to them. Thanks for coming out tonight to talk to this kid from Philly.”
