Handing on the Faith with Dr. Linda Mary Dix

Parents and grandparents who want some insight on how to teach their children about the Catholic faith can benefit from Dr. Linda Mary Dix who will host a presentation on “Passing on Faith in the Family” Oct. 13 from 3 to 4 p.m. in the PNC Bank Arts Center’s VIP Tent.
Dr. Dix, who has been director of religious education in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Moorestown, since 1987, holds a doctor of ministry degree from Graduate Theological, Indiana, a master’s degree in theology and pastoral studies from La Salle University, Philadelphia, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (summa cum laude) from Georgian Court College, Lakewood. She also holds New Jersey State Certification K-8, Elementary Education and New Jersey State Certification in French and Secondary Education. She also earned Trenton Diocesan certification as a catechist and as a coordinator of parish administrators of religious education.
Prior to becoming director of religious education, Dr. Dix was a seventh and eighth grade teacher in the parish school. Her other professional experience includes serving as an adjunct professor in La Salle University; on the staff of Sacred Heart School, Mount Holly, and in the Pemberton Township School District.
Ministries that Dr. Dix has been involved in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish have included extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, organist and member of the adult faith formation team. She’s been the recipient of numerous awards including the Nostrum Ecclesiam Tempus (Now Is Our Time to be Church) Award, presented by Bishop John M. Smith in 2007; the diocesan Outstanding Catholic Educator Award in 2000, and the diocesan Mission Moderator Award in 1995 and 2012.
Dr. Dix is the mother of two sons and has four granddaughters.
