Good Counsel Home-South Jersey to hold 'Walk for Me' walkathon

Members of the community are invited to put on their sneakers and sweat suits to walk for a good cause June 6 when Good Counsel Home-South Jersey holds its annual walkathon “Walk for Me” in Burlington, Gloucester, Cape May and Camden Counties, to support and enable the staff of GCHSJ to help its mothers achieve independence and provide a safe home environment for their families.

At each location the day will begin with registration from 8:30 to 10 a.m., followed by the walk from 9 a.m. to noon, unless otherwise noted.

The locations are as follows:

Burlington County • Memorial Park, 2300 Block, Lenola Rd., Cinnaminson and Laurel Acres Park, 1045 S. Church St., Mount Laurel (Mount Laurel walk time is from 1 to 5 p.m.)

Gloucester County • James G. Atkinson Memorial Park, 138 Bethel Mill Rd., Hurffville

Cape May County • Wildwood Boardwalk, E. Burke Ave. and Boardwalk (one block south of Convention Center), Wildwood

Camden County • Cooper River Park, N. Park Drive (near Columbus statue, E. of Lobster Trap parking lot), Pennsauken.

All proceeds benefit the mothers and babies of GCHSJ.  GCHSJ is located in Riverside.

Good Counsel is a nationally recognized nonprofit leader and innovator in creating supportive residential care and community-based services for homeless, expectant, and new mothers and their children in the context of the Catholic social tradition. Pregnant and expectant mothers, with or without other born children, including mothers with mental health or addiction challenges, from any location, are able to receive help in a Good Counsel home.
