Georgian Court University to celebrate homecoming and family day

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Georgian Court University students and faculty will celebrate the beginning of the 2014–2015 school year with a Homecoming & Family Day Sept. 27 from noon to 5 p.m. on the university’s Lakewood campus. Events will include the third annual 5K Race/Walk, GCU Lions’ men’s and women’s soccer games and women’s volleyball games, a barbecue, and fun and games for children and adults alike.

“Homecoming and Family Day is an exciting opportunity to celebrate both the past and the present traditions of ‘The Court’,” said Karen Goff, assistant provost for student life and dean of students. “Traditionally, Georgian Court has always hosted family day as a way to celebrate students, faculty, staff, and their families. Now we’ve opened it to the local community.”

“This festive and fun-packed weekend comes a great time of year to showcase the spirit and pride of the entire GCU family on our picturesque campus!” Goff added.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children over four. Admission is free for children age four and under, as well as all current GCU students. The price includes barbeque access and 10 activities tickets. For more information, please contact the GCU Office of Student Life at 732-987-2606.

Entry fees for the 5K Race/Walk are $10 for GCU students, faculty/staff, and alumni, and $15 for the general public. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K begins at 9:30 a.m. The flat, fast 5K course consists of grass, pavement, and gravel in a single loop around GCU’s historic campus. To register, please contact the GCU Office of Athletics and Recreation at 732-987-2653.
