“Georgian Court’s sincere desire to ensure that individuals in recovery not only have access to education, but additionally are supported while students on their campus is inspiring,” said Mariel Hufnagel, executive director of the Ammon Foundation. “Continued education significantly raises the likelihood of individuals not only maintaining their recovery, but building full and meaningful lives.”
Added Meghan Rehbein, GCU’s acting vice president for advancement, “We believe the partnership will provide another set of resources – and hope – for families, individuals and even industry professionals looking to help individuals in recovery. We are proud to be among the first four-year institutions to join Ammon in this effort, which mirrors our Mercy core values of compassion and respect.”
Through this partnership, $15,000 in scholarship funds are available. Scholarship funds will be available beginning with the 2018–2019 academic year. The deadline for Fall 2018 scholarship consideration is Aug. 15. The deadline for Spring 2019 consideration is Nov. 1.
