GCU's MILL offers full slate for fall

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Registration is open to people age 50 and older for the largest number of classes ever offered by the McAuley Institute for Lifelong Learning  at Georgian Court University, Lakewood.

Nearly 40 classes, including Twitter 101, Convict Literature, Hollywood Jesus, and creative writing are available. The most popular classes include Basic Bridge, with the largest enrollment; T’ai Chi Chih; and holistic health, literature, writing, and religion classes.

Alice Velez, director of development and MILL program specialist, said: “Our classes are structured for mature learners.”

Our typical members are retired professionals, with many educators, from active adult communities. One factor they all have in common is they are open to new experiences and learning new things at their own pace.”

New this semester are short courses that meet only once or twice, including three different genealogy classes and two classes on Twitter. Full-length classes meet over three to six weeks.

Annual membership is $25 for 12 months ($20 for GCU alumni). Some classes are for members only.  All members receive discounts for classes as well as other campus activities and at the university bookstore.

Visit www.georgian.edu/mcauley for details on these and additional courses that may be scheduled. Online registration is available at alumni.georgian.edu/mill. Contact Velez at 732.987.2201 or [email protected] with questions.
