Funeral services for Poor Clare Sister Mary McCourt

Divine Word Father Martin Padovani was celebrated Dec. 7 in the chapel of the Monastery of St. Clare, Chesterfield, for Poor Clare Sister Mary McCourt.
Sister Mary died Dec. 3 in Morris Hall, Lawrenceville, at age 74.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Sister Mary entered the Order of St. Clare March 18, 1956. She received the habit Sept. 29, 1956; made her first profession March 24, 1959, and final profession March 24, 1962. Sister Mary held many positions in the monastery, including treasurer, formation director and abbess. She was one of the founding members of the Poor Clare Monastery in Cororico, Bolivia, in 1962, where she served for 11 years.
Sister Mary is survived by a sister-in-law, Joan McCourt; a niece; a nephew, and many cousins, friends and Poor Clare sisters.
