Funeral services for John Shaffer, brother of priest and Trenton Catholic Academy staff member

Funeral services have been announced for John Shaffer, who died Oct. 23.

Mr.  Shaffer was the brother of Father Scott Shaffer, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Toms River. He served as director of marketing in Trenton Catholic Academy, Hamilton, and with the music ministry in St. Aloysius Parish, Jackson, as an organist.

Viewing hours will be held Oct. 27 from 4-8 p.m. in St. Aloysius Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Aloysius Church.

In addition to Father Shaffer, Mr. Shaffer is survived by his wife, Karen; two children, Hannah and Justin; his mother, Joan Shaffer; a sister, Cindy, and a brother, Roger.
