Funeral services for Helen A. Euk, mother of priest

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 9 in St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Toms River, for Helen A. Euk, who died April 4 in Jeanne Jugan Residence, Bronx, N.Y., at age 88.

Mrs. Euk was the mother of Father Vincent Euk, a priest serving in the Diocese of Trenton.

Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Euk lived in Woodhaven, Queens, N.Y., prior to taking up residence in the Holiday City South section of Toms River.

She attended St. Catherine Nursing School and St. John’s College in New York. She was a registered nurse in St. Catherine Hospital, Brooklyn, for 40 years, retiring in 1975. She was active in the parishes where held membership – St. Thomas the Apostle, Queens, N.Y., and St. Maximilian Kolbe. On a diocesan level, she was coordinator of “Mothers of Priests” and volunteered with the Office of Family Life. She was also a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Toms River.

Mrs. Euk was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Rempe, her husband, Anthony, and her brother, Joseph.

She is survived by her three sons, Anthony, Stephen and Father Vincent; a daughter, Mary Neglia; one brother; seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
