For the third consecutive year, the Fermi Federation has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Trenton Catholic Academy senior. William Parr, a resident of Ewing and member of Incarnation-St. James Parish, Ewing, was this year’s recipient, and will use the scholarship toward furthering his education in St. Joseph University, Philadelphia, where he will begin studies in the fall.
The Fermi Federation is a Trenton-based, Italian-American Civic Association founded in 1965.
“Will and the other TCA students to whom we’ve given scholarships are outstanding young adults, both on a personal and academic level,” said Dominick Chianese, vice president of the Fermi Federation. “We are pleased to assist them as they go on to college.”
Scholarship criteria stipulate that students must be of Italian descent, show academic achievement, be active participants in school and/or community activities, submit an essay, and attend a two- or four-year college.
