Father Brian McCormick, who has had a long and dedicated history of service to the poor and is known for his founding of the inner-city Trenton agency, Martin House, will mark the 50th anniversary of his priestly ordination June 12.

Father McCormick will celebrate an 11 a.m. Mass of Thanksgiving in St. James the Less Church, 36 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg. A dinner will follow from 1 to 5 p.m. in Pierre’s Restaurant, 582 Georges Rd., South Brunswick.

In his first assignment as a priest he dealt with racism and delinquency in St. James Parish, Woodbridge. In 1969, Bishop Ahr assigned him to begin Martin House, where he worked for 42 years with the inner-city Trenton poor.

Tickets to the dinner are $50 per person. Make checks payable to Friends of Fr. Brian McCormick and send to P.O. Box 9823, Trenton, N.J. 08650 before May 25. Include name(s), number of tickets, dinner choices (prime rib, chicken franchaise, herb-crusted salmon), requested table partners and phone/email for reservation confirmation.
