'Family, Live What You Are'

The diocesan Department of Youth, Marriage and Family Life along with Father Rene Pulgarin, pastor of Christ the Redeemer Parish, Mount Holly, and the diocesan Hispanic Family Ministry Committee, will host its third annual Hispanic family picnic and retreat, “Familia, Vive Lo Que Eres,” meaning, “Family, Live What You Are,” on Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hamilton Area YMCA Sawmill Branch at 185 Sawmill Road, Hamilton.

With the theme, “Familia, Encuenro de Fe y Amor,” which means “Family, Encounter (Commitment) of Faith and Love,” the event is designed for couples married in the Church and their children. The day will include talks for adults, special breakouts for youth and children, Mass in Spanish, lunch, family fun, games, and pool time.  Guest speaker will be Augustinian Father Juan Luis Calderon of the Archdiocese of Newark.

All are welcome.  The cost is $25 per family, $5 additional for lunch per person.  For information, call Carrie Barillas, coordinator of Young Adult and Hispanic Ministries at 609-403-7175.   To register, call Beatriz Cancel-Perez at 609-403-7151 or contact a Hispanic Family Ministry Committee member in your local parish.
