Fall activities in St. Francis Community Center

Registration for fall activities in St. Francis Community Center, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township, is scheduled for Aug. 31 at 9 a.m. Classes begin Sept. 8.

Programs in the St. Francis Aquatic Center include:

All levels of swimming instruction: water tots (four-year-olds), beginner swim, beginner level 1, beginner level 2 and intermediate.

Private and semiprivate swim lessons are also available.

Additional aquatic programs include: lifeguard training, CPR/AED training for the professional lifeguard, competitive swim and fall swim clinic.

Arthritis aquatic exercise, aquatic aerobics and deep water aerobics.

St. Francis Recreation Programs include:

Basketball: tot and tyke; Dick Manzo (retired St. Rose High School basketball coach) Fall Basketball Clinic, recreational league, second grade youth basketball and private lessons.

Baseball: Baseball 101 and private baseball lessons with Tom Natoli (St. Rose High School coach), fitness: all-in-one fitness class or develop an individualized approach to exercise and health with private lessons with a personal trainer. Gentle yoga and all-level yoga classes have been added to the fall/winter schedule.

An affordable, yearly membership entitles persons to lower rates for many activities and free admissions to “open gym.” Pool memberships are also available for six months or yearly for individuals or families.

Serving the entire Southern Ocean County area, the community center offers the area’s original vacation club for children ages five through 13. A senior center; recreation and aquatic programs, counseling, family and parenting services, volunteer program and many special events are also available year-round. The center’s facilities include: a regulation gymnasium, competition-size indoor pool and two heated outdoor pools.

St. Francis Community Center provides year-round educational, social, recreational and self-development activities and programs for all ages.
