Episcopal Appointments/Announcement

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., has made the following appointments, annoucement:

Father Andres Serna to parochial vicar, St. Dorothea Parish, Eatowntown/Precious Blood Parish, Monmouth Beach, effective July 1.

Father Raphael Esquen, renewed appointment, Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, Beverly, effective immediately.

Deacon Stephen A. Sansevere, from diaconal ministry in St. Gabriel Parish, Marlboro, to St. Theresa Parish, Little Egg Harbor, effective July 1, 2019, as he prepares for priestly ordination, expected for June 2020.  

Clergy Announcement

Rev. Kevin Kimtis received his doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome, May 20. He will continue preparation in Rome for service in the Diplomatic Corps of the Holy See.

Father Kimtis was ordained June 4, 2011, by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., and served six years as a parochial vicar in St. Ann Parish, Lawrenceville, and St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square. He began his studies in Lateran University in September 2017.

Kimtis was born in Niskayuna, N.Y., and was a member of St. Paul Parish, Princeton. He attended Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville; graduated from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., and received a bachelor’s degree in canon law from Gregorian University, Rome.
