Environmental Awareness Committee in Medford honors two contest winners


Lee Morley and Megan Giarraputo were named the winners of the Environmental Awareness Upcycle and Poster contests in St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford.

Morley is an eighth  grader in Olson Middle School in Tabernacle and won first prize for his Upcycle creation of a bird feeder.

Giarraputo is an eighth grader in St. Mary of the Lakes School and won first prize for her poster on Care for God’s Natural Resources.

Each young parishioner was presented with a certificate and gift card from the Environmental Awareness Committee during the Vigil Mass on May 2. Through educational offerings and activities such as the Upcycle and Poster contests, the Environmental Awareness Committee members promote awareness on the environment and the need to conserve natural resources to fellow parishioners and within the local community.
