Diocese's 'Cristo Para Todos' garners prestigious Gabriel Award

“Cristo Para Todos,” the Diocese’s monthly Spanish program, was honored with a Gabriel Award by the Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals.  The award was presented June 25 during the Catholic Media Convention in Buffalo, N.Y. Accepting the award on behalf of the Trenton Diocese was Ericka Rodriguez, a program co-host.

“Cristo Para Todos” was honored for the episode “Ofrenda Diezmo o Limosna (Offering, Tithing or Alms-giving),” which focuses on different ways Catholics are called to give to the Church – specifically through offerings at Mass, tithing and alms-giving. The program explores the questions of what it means to really give, how to open oneself to receive others’ generosity and how to receive by giving with generous hearts. Featuring a spotlight interview with José Sanabria from St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Hightstown, the episode includes thoughts from the diocesan community, a humorous skit, hosts  Rodríguez and Mateo Greeley and music from Ministerio Getsemaní.

“Cristo Para Todos” is produced by the Department of Radio and Television, in cooperation with Matthew Greeley, associate director of the Office of Communications and coordinator of Spanish-language communications.  It can be viewed at http://www.dioceseoftrenton.org/cristoparatodostv/

Named for St. Gabriel the Archangel, patron saint of television, radio and all digital communication, the Gabriel Awards are presented annually by the Catholic Academy in recognition of work that proclaims value-centered views of society and humanity, primarily through the media.
