July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The diocesan Department of Evangelization and Catechesis will host a fall formation day for all who are involved in catechetical ministry Aug. 20.

The program will be held in St. Pius X Parish, Forked River, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and running until 2:30 p.m.

The day-long event features presentations and lunch, and participants will break at 11:30 a.m. for Mass, which will be celebrated by Father Mark Kreder, pastor of St. Justin the Martyr Parish, Toms River.

The program will feature speaker Joseph D. White, Ph.D., a nationally recognized clinical psychologist and best-selling author. He currently serves as national catechetical consultant for Our Sunday Visitor, and is a member of a panel of experts at OSVParish.com.

The theme of the day will be "The Way God Teaches: Catechesis and the Divine Pedagogy," and will include reflections on his pedagogy that promise to offer attendees insights about how to best craft their own ministry in ways that meet the needs of today's learners.

The $15 per person cost for the day includes coffee, a small breakfast and lunch. Registration is required by Aug. 14.
