A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 14 in St. Mary of the Lakes Church, Medford, for Deacon Norbert J. “Klem” Klimaszewski who died suddenly May 10. He was 81.

Father Daniel Swift, pastor of St. Mary of the Lakes, was principal celebrant of the Mass. Concelebrants included Msgr. Thomas Mullelly, diocesan episcopal vicar of clergy and consecrated life, and Msgr. Richard LaVerghetta, pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish, Marlton, who was also the homilist.

Deacon Klimazewski was ordained a permanent deacon May 12, 1984 by Bishop John C. Reiss. He served for more than 30 years in St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, during the time he lived in Florida and most recently in St. Joan of Arc Parish, Marlton. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Polick); two daughters Noreen (Dave) Ryan and Cheryl (Art) Sorino; a brother and sister-in-law; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Conference based in St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, P.O. Box 1131, Medford, N.J. 08055.
