Deacon James P. Cook, 74

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 6 in St. William Church, Naples, Fla., for Deacon James P. Cook who died Nov. 3. He was 74.

Deacon Cook was born in Elizabeth and was the son of the late Bernard and Mary Jane Cook. He was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Trenton May 12, 1979, by Bishop George W. Ahr in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, and ministered in St. Luke Parish, Toms River.

He retired from GPU Nuclear Corporation in 1994. Deacon Cook is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann (Collins) Cook; three children Kathleen (James) Crossnohere, Timothy (Patricia) and Terrence (Julie); six grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1040 Woodcock Rd., Suite 119, Orlando, Fla., 32803.
