Members of St. Dominic Parish, Brick, turned out in force to celebrate with Msgr. James J. Brady as he marked the 40th anniversary of his priestly ordination with a Mass and reception. In the first photo, Msgr. Brady is pictured greeting a father and daughter at the conclusion of Mass while members of the Knights of Columbus wait their turns. The second photo captures the festive atmosphere in the school gymnasium as scores of parishioners attended the reception in his honor. Msgr. Brady, born and bred in County Cavan, Ireland, and prepared for the priesthood in St. Patrick College and Seminary, Carlow, was ordained in that county on June 10, 1972 for the Diocese of Trenton. Named pastor of St. Dominic in 1998 by Bishop John M. Smith, under his stewardship, the parish has fostered an atmosphere with Catholic education flourishes. St. Dominic is home to 4,000 families with an elementary school attended by 600 students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade and a religious education program attended by 850 children.
