CWOZ retreat day scheduled

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Women from throughout the Diocese and their friends are welcome to join the Catholic Women of Zion, Chapter I, for a retreat day to be held March 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. William the Abbot Parish, 274 Lakewood Allenwood Rd., Howell.

Now in its 25th year, the Catholic Women of Zion is a ministry, inspired by the Holy Spirit, to meet the needs of today’s women.  It is a ministry of healing of mind, body, and spirit and meets bi-monthly for a morning to share, music, network, lunch, talks by guest speakers and a prayer service.

The March 8 retreat will begin with Mass celebrated by Father Thomas Maher, pastor, at 9 a.m. Father Maher will also be the speaker at the meeting to follow. His topic is “Martha and Mary: an Image of Women in Prayer.”

Father Maher was ordained a priest for the Legionaries of Christ Nov. 25, 1994 in Mexico City. He arrived to the Trenton Diocese in 2009 and served as an adjunct priest and then parochial vicar of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Whiting. He was incardinated a priest of the Diocese of Trenton by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., in March 2012.

Admission for the retreat is $20 per person and includes lunch. Reservations may be made by calling 732-363-0139, ext. 777 no later than March 4 or www.cwoz.org.
