CWOZ Chapter 1 plans August retreat in Howell

Catholic Women of Zion, Chapter 1, will host a retreat day Aug. 12 in St. William the Abbot Parish, Howell. The Catholic Women of Zion is a ministry striving to meet the needs of today’s modern women, inspired by the Holy Spirit through healing of mind, body and spirit.

The day’s retreat will consist of Mass, prayer, music, speaker, sharing, along with networking and prayers for healing. Guest speaker Jennifer Maher is a wife of 22 years and a mother of eight children. She graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in social work and worked for the State of New Jersey for nearly seven years before becoming a full-time stay-at-home mother.

Maher has been active in the Diocese of Trenton for more than 10 years as a religious education catechist and Pre-Cana facilitator for “God’s Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage.” She is currently serving as a member on the Trenton Diocesan Natural Family Planning Committee.

Maher’s topic will be “I am the Potter, You are the Clay.”

The event will begin with a Mass at 9 a.m. celebrated in St. William the Abbot Church by Father Thomas Maher, pastor, and conclude at 1 p.m.

Admission is $20, which includes lunch. Attendees are encouraged to bring a friend. Reservations, which are necessary, may be made by calling 732-363-0139 (ext. 777) no later than Aug. 8. When leaving message, include spelling of name and phone number. Register online at www.cwoz.org.
