CUA alumni invited to Mass with Bishop

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., invites alumni, parents and friends of the Catholic University of America to join him for Mass at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, in St. Catharine Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake.
Bishop O’Connell pursued studies in canon law at CUA, obtaining a licentiate in 1987 and then a doctorate in canon law in 1990. He later served as the University’s 14th president from 1998 until he was named the 10th bishop of the Diocese of Trenton in 2010.
After Mass, John Garvey, the 15th and current president of CUA, will discuss the University’s recent accomplishments and plans during a reception at The Breakers, 1507 Ocean Ave., Spring Lake.
