Convocation for Consecrated Life

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Women and men sharing a vocation to Consecrated Life are invited to attend a convocation hosted by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., and the diocesan Office of Clergy and Consecrated Life Oct.13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in St. Ann Parish, 1253 Lawrenceville Rd., Lawrenceville.

All those serving in consecrated life from around the Diocese and their major superiors are invited to attend.

Highlights of the day will include a reflection on “Jesus Asks the Best Questions!” by Sister of St. Joseph Marcella “Marcy” Springer, a Mass celebrated at 10:45 by Bishop O’Connell and a luncheon.

Sister Marcy graduated from the College of Chestnut Hill, Chestnut Hill, Pa., and earned a master’s degree in Formative Spirituality from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pa. She is currently the director of Francis House of Prayer, a Trenton Diocesan spiritual center located in Mount Holly where she has served for the past 27 years. Sister Marcy offers retreats, programs and workshops on prayer, discernment, the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the mystics and other topics. She also directs a three-year certification program for intern spiritual directors.

At the convocation, Sister Marcy will present questions that Jesu asks of men and women who are called to serve in consecrated life. The goal of her talk will be to prompt serious reflection among those in attendance as they continue to follow Christ in their vocations.
