Conference is calling Catholic men to be courageous

The Catholic Men for Jesus Christ are hosting their 17th Annual Men’s Conference Feb. 22, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in St. Mary Mother of God Church, Middletown.
The conference, with the theme “Be Courageous. Be Catholic,” will feature a strong lineup of well-known, dynamic speakers, including Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., who will serve as celebrant and homilist for the conference Mass.
Additionally, speakers include former Major League Baseball manager Jack McKeon, Eternal Word Television Network personality Deacon Harold Burke Siver, and The King’s Men co-founder Mark Houck.
McKeon is a two-time National League Manager of the Year. He came out of retirement during the 2003 season and led the Florida Marlins to a dramatic World Series victory over the New York Yankees. Besides the Marlins, McKeon also managed the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds. McKeon is a devout Catholic and daily communicant who has a special devotion to St. Therese of Lisieux and the Blessed Mother.
Deacon Sivers has been featured on Life on the Rock, EWTN Live, EWTN Bookmark, and hosts several popular EWTN series, including “Behold the Man: Spirituality for Men,” “Made in His Image: Family Life Today,” “Christ the Servant: The Vocation of Deacons” and “Authentically Free at Last.” Deacon Harold also hosts the weekly radio show “From the Rooftops” on the Radio Maria network.
Prior to launching The King’s Men, Houck was a full-time chastity educator and pro-life activist with Generation Life. He is also an author, lecturer, and radio host. Houck has written numerous articles, brochures and publications on the topic of masculine spirituality, and has ministered to men and women all across North America and Europe.
The conference will also feature a young men’s track in partnership with Catholic Athletes for Christ for young men from eighth grade to college age.
Cost for the conference is $25 for pre-registration, $30 at the door and $10 for students.
