Community Center to observe Sexual Assault Awareness Month

In observance of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month, St. Francis Counseling Service will offer the following programs to raise awareness throughout Ocean County.

April 5 • The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and St. Francis Community Counseling Service will host a baseball game at the First Energy Park, 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased by visiting blueclaws.com/stepup. There will be post game fireworks, opportunities for children to run the bases and a chance to win a jersey signed by the team. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

April 15 • St. Francis Counseling Service Sexual Abuse and Assault Prevention Program and Ocean County Counseling Services will host a talk by Jennifer Nadler, at 12:30 p.m. in Ocean County College, Gateway (Bldg. 101) 1 College Drive, Toms River. Refreshments will be served. For more information or to make reservations, call 732-255-0386.

April 17 • St. Francis Sexual Abuse and Assault Prevention Program with POUNDFIT of Brick, will host a free workout event at 6:30 p.m. in Brick Pioneer Fire House, 312 Drum Point Road, Brick. The workout is easily modifiable and is open to men and women of all ages and abilities.

April 24 • A free night of painting will take place at The Union Market 120 W. Main Street, Tuckerton, starting at 6:30 p.m. Instructor is canvas coach Jude Hadley. Registration is required. To register, call 609-494-1554.

April 25 • A Denim Day with the LBI Health Department will be held in St. Francis Community Center, 4700 Long Beach Boulevard, Long Beach Township from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to the public.
