Community Center to mark Sexual Assault Awareness Month

In observance of Sexual Awareness Month, St. Francis Community Center, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township, has planned a number of events to be held the week of April 24-28.

April 25, Sexual Assault: Engaging New Voices with Ocean County Advisory Commission on the Status of Women. The event will be held in the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch, Mancini Hall, from 6 to 9 p.m. All ages welcome. To register, call 732-506-5374. It is recommended that registrations take place by April 18. The program is made possible by Gold Hawk Martial Arts, Long Beach Island Health Department and the Ocean County: Advisory Commission on the Status of Women, Health Department, Library System and Prosecutor’s Office and St. Francis Counseling Service.

April 26, third annual Paint the Town Teal, 6 to 8 p.m. in St. Francis Community Center gym. Supplies will be provided. Register by calling Sue Seiter at 609-494-1554.

April 27, Clothes Line Project, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., St. Francis Community Center lobby. Participants can decorate T-shirts, which will be on display in the counseling office. Registration is not required and supplies will be provided.

April 28, Sunset Yoga, 6 to 8 p.m. at the pool deck of the St. Francis Aquatic Center (located in the Community Center. Sue Seiter will be the instructor. Participants should bring their own Yoga matt. To register, call 609-494-1554.
