Christ the King Parish plans festival Sept. 3

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

A multicultural festival in honor of Christ the King will be help on the grounds of Christ the King Parish, Long Branch, Sept. 3 from 10am-8pm.

According to parishioner and organizer, Lesbia Galiz, this multicultural celebration will recognize and highlight the diverse nationalities from Latin America of the parishioners of Christ the King Parish. The event will include live music acts with mariachis, bands and folkloric dances, a talent show featuring people from the parish and surrounding community, typical foods from throughout Latin America, fun activities for children and much more.

The festival, Galiz said, is the first that the recently formed parish is hosting. Christ the King Parish has two worship sites, Our Lady Star of the Sea and Holy Trinity. The festival will be an opportunity for the parishioners to join together “to show our unity and build community.”

Galiz and the organizing committee extended appreciation to Father Javier Dias, pastor of Christ the King, for his support and encouragement of the first-ever event for the parish family.

The festival will be held on the grounds of Our Lady Star of the Sea worship site located at Chelsea and Second Ave., Long Branch.

All are welcome and encouraged to come and enjoy this celebration of diversity and culture unified as one Catholic family.
