The Center for FaithJustice, a non-profit organization headquartered in Lawrenceville, has announced the selection of Matthew Robaszkiewicz as the new executive director effective Feb. 2.
Robaszkiewicz brings more than 20 years of ministerial and management experience at the local, diocesan, regional and national levels in the areas of Catholic youth, young adult and campus ministry, education, non-profit administration and meeting/event and conference planning. He has a substantial background in organizational and ministerial leadership. A veteran of domestic service opportunities and mission trips to Appalachia, Jamaica, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Nicaragua, Mexico and Nigeria, he is also well versed in service learning and immersion experiences.
According to Rocky Balsamo, chairman, “The Center for FaithJustice is thrilled to welcome Matthew to our team. For the last decade, we have brought together thousands of young people from all walks of life to teach them about faith and justice and to provide them with meaningful experiences. Historically our reach has been local, but Matthew brings a unique set of skills that will help us to become a regional and national presence. We look forward to the next phase of the center’s work under his leadership.”
Prior to joining the Center for FaithJustice, Robaszkiewicz held positions with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry in Washington, D.C., the Diocese of Austin in Texas, and Archdiocese of Atlanta and with Marriott Hotels and Resorts in Florida and Georgia. He also served as president of the National Alumni Association and on the board of trustees for Mercyhurst University, Erie, Pa. He earned a bachelor’s degree in hotel, restaurant and institutional management and a master’s degree in moral and systematic theology.
“The Center for FaithJustice has a history of strong programming and is ardent in bringing young people face to face with social justice issues and assisting them reconciling their faith and how they are called to act in the face of injustice and poverty. I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the CFJ vision and to assist the organization in furthering the mission to include a broader audience. I am very much looking forward to building upon the great programming that has already been set in place.”
