It is not often that a birthday celebration causes a stir on our social media pages. But a recent milestone reached by a member of St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square, garnered a lot of attention.

On April 29, Jean Inverso turned 100. Inverso goes to Mass every Sunday and has never missed a Holy Day. The Monitor noted her accomplishments on Facebook May 12, and the well wishes poured in.

Marion Junior Lane McLaughlin wrote, “I can vouch for this. I see her and her family at St. Lawrence Mass every week. Beautiful lady, Happy Birthday.”

“Have a Blessed and Happy Birthday! Prayers, blessings and hugs,” wrote an account for a Bucks County home care service.

Inverso’s home parish even gave her a “Happy Birthday” shout out.

The Diocese of Trenton account posted dozens of photos and videos from the annual Pentecost Rally and Retreat Day sponsored by the Charismatic groups of the Diocese and hosted May 14 by St. Mary Parish, Middletown. The posts included one short interview with Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, the main speaker in English for the celebration.

“Don’t be afraid to share your faith in Jesus with passion and conviction,” Deacon Burke-Sivers said. “Because as Jesus said, ‘love casts out all fear.’”

You can watch the video of Deacon Burke-Sivers at Facebook.com/TheCatholicDioceseofTrenton and read the full story on the Charismatic rally, at which Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., was the principal celebrant and homilist for Mass, on page 20.

Bishop O’Connell also celebrated Mass on May 15 to end the annual New Jersey Catholic Youth Rally, a day of faith and fellowship for teens, youth ministers and their families at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. You can read the full story on that event on page 3 and see photos at Facebook.com/TrentonMonitor.
