Catholic Women of Zion to mark 26th year

Catholic Women of Zion Chapter 1 will celebrate its 26th anniversary with a retreat day to be held Feb. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. William the Abbot Parish, 2740 Lakewood-Allenwood Rd., Howell.
The day will begin with Mass celebrated by Father Thomas Maher, pastor, at 8:30 a.m. in the church. The retreat will follow and include prayer, music, speaker and sharing. Guest speaker is Ana Maria Garcia, a Catholic lay evangelist representing Good News International, a ministry comprised of Catholic lay men and women who seek to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
A member of St. Luke Parish, Toms River, Garcia has spoken throughout the state at retreats, Communion breakfasts, women’s groups, workshops, seminars and parish missions. She has given witness at the Catholic Tent Revival of New Jersey and the New Jersey Catholic Charismatic Conference as well as for ecumenical organizations. She writes for the Good News International website.
Garcia is a mother of three children and grandmother of two. In St. Luke Parish, she serves as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and a reader.
Admission for the day is $20 and includes lunch. Payment will be collected at the door. Reservations are required.
