July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

BELMAR — St. Rose Parish, Belmar, will serve as the site of a Catholic Men’s Morning to be held Oct. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The day will open with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the parish hall, followed by two presentations in church given by Dr. Allen Hunt, internationally renowned speaker and author. The day will round out with the celebration of Mass by Msgr. Edward Arnister, pastor, at 11:45 a.m., and conclude with a complementary lunch. Opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and recite of the Rosary will be available.

In his presentations, Dr. Hunt will reflect on his own journey to the Catholic Church as well as reasons why people have left the Church. Dr.

Hunt, who holds a doctorate in New Testament study and Ancient Christian origins from Yale University, has authored Confessions of a Mega-Church Pastor: How I Discovered the Hidden Treasures of the Catholic Church; Everybody Needs to Forgive Somebody; and Nine Words: A Bible Study to Help You Become the Best-Version-of-Yourself.

Prior to his becoming Catholic, Dr. Hunt was senior pastor in Mount Pisgah, an Alpharetta, Ga.-based congregation. The former Methodist pastor was officially received into the Catholic Church by Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Atlanta on Jan. 8, 2008, the Feast of the Epiphany. Hunt is vice president for strategy at The Dynamic Catholic Institute and hosts the Allen Hunt show that airs on 750 am and 95.5 FM WSB news talk radio in Georgia.
