Cameron Stringham, a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Cinnaminson, and the Class of 2014 in Immaculata University, Immaculata, Pa., has been named the university’s recipient of the Jacobs Music Steinway Award.

The award is given to a graduating senior, chosen by the music faculty, in recognition of outstanding pianistic ability, musicianship and artistic and academic scholarship. The recipient receives a cash gift and a plaque of recognition. Stringham, a music education major, received the award at his recent senior recital.

After graduation, Stringham will be awarded his teaching certificate and plans to pursue teaching positions at the secondary level in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In his spare time, he will continue to perform for community theatrical productions and serve as organist for several parishes. He also expects to finish some musical compositions that he has been working on with hopes of having them published.

“I am very excited to have received the 2014 Steinway Award,” stated Stringham.  “I am grateful to the university for recognizing me for my academic endeavors. I have enjoyed my four years at IU and the skills I was able to develop, and I am looking forward to sharing my talents with future groups of people in the years to come.”

Since his sophomore year, Stringham was able to benefit by Immaculata’s distinction as an All-Steinway School, bringing the world’s most respected hand-built pianos into each practice room and performance space at the university.
