Blessing of the Nativity set for Dec. 12

Msgr. James Innocenzi, diocesan judicial vicar, and Father Brian Woodrow, pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, Allentown, and chaplain of St. John the Baptist Council, Knights of Columbus, Allentown, are expected to join members from Knights of Columbus councils for the annual Blessing of the Nativity Dec. 12 starting 11 a.m. at the New Jersey State House, 125 West State St., Trenton.

The event will begin with caroling and refreshments at 11 a.m. The blessing of the Nativity will follow at 11:30 with Msgr. Innocenzi and Father Woodrow presiding. On hand to give opening remarks will be Jerry Iacona, past grand knight and past faithful navigator of the Allentown council. Bruce DeMolli, Knights of Columbus state deputy, Kenneth Krewson of the Allentown council and Rocco Zangrilli of the Trenton Council are scheduled to address the gathering, and Msgr. Innocenzi will lead the opening and closing prayers. Music will be provided by the parish youth choirs from St. John the Baptist and Our Lady of the Angels, Trenton.

After the blessing, a fixed-price luncheon will follow in Amici Milano’s Restaurant, 600 Chestnut Ave., Trenton.

For anyone who wishes to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and attend Mass later in the day, Confessions will be heard at 3 p.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim Church, Bayard Street, and Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m.
