Bishop, priests, share camaraderie during Advent Spirituality Day

Priests from around the Diocese gathered with Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., for and Advent Spirituality Day Dec. 15 in St. Pius X Parish, Forked River. Guest speaker was Msgr. Andrew Baker, S.T.D., rector of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, Md., who spoke on the topic “A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23.” Msgr. Baker has served on the staff of the Congregation of Bishops in Rome and as pastor and rector of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in the Diocese of Allentown, Pa.
The gathering also included an opportunity for priests to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to enjoy a Christmas luncheon that was hosted by Bishop O’Connell.
