Bishop O'Connell welcomes South Korean Bishop to Chancery

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., welcomed Bishop John Chrysostom Kwon Hyeok-Ju of Andong, South Korea, on July 21 to the Diocesan Chancery, Lawrenceville.
Bishop Kwon Hyeok-Ju is visiting two Korean Catholic parishes during his time in the United States: St. Michael/Church of the Korean Martyrs here in Trenton, and another in Pittsburgh, Pa. Bishop O’Connell delegated Bishop Kwon Hyeok-Ju to administer Confirmation in St. Michael/Church of the Korean Martyrs on July 23.
During their visit, the bishops spoke about their respective dioceses and parishes, as well as current escalating tensions between North Korea and surrounding countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Bishop O’Connell thanked Bishop Kwon Hyeok-Ju for allowing Father In-Ho Bae to serve the Diocese of Trenton’s Korean Catholics. Staff photos
